yesterday's WAC lecture was fascinating as usual. i liked the variation in experience of the three women - one older, very blunt and realistic about the harshness of the field, the young one super idealistic. it was really amazing, what they've done, and inspiring (international project? :O)

and then yesterday. THE FOOD was awesome. jessica and christine were going CRAZY and we were all laughing so hard. so then i wake up this morning, bloated AND stomach crampy. note to self: never overeat right before you start surfing.

number of times i've been to WAC: 2
number of speakers seen: 4
number of people whose lives need to change: too many

number of times i've played washington post today: 3

as for college essays, i really need to get cracking. darn cramps are making me not feel like doing ANYTHING, though. wait... i have an idea.

to do tonight: essays. burn through gov notes. tape over paint samples. glance at math hw.

Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' D: we hop into a taxi van, and begin our journey into copenhagen! we stayed two days before our cruise officially started.

this is our hotel, THE SQUARE. it is indeed very square in there. but not as in old-fashioned! the design was really very modern and there was free internet! :D :D on the right, taken from the taxi (or TAXA in denmark): HELLA BIKES.

so after taking a much needed nap, we go exploring down the main shopping street, the stroget. there are 7/11s on every corner. they have good bagels and croissants. i'll let the pictures speak for themselves, plus some alt-text for brief descriptions and/or feeble attempts at humor.

 <img src="http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/60/cruisejuly09074.jpg" alt="TYCHO BRAHE.
it seriously must. you could say it comes with the territory, but the biggest names have next to no privacy. sure, you'd make a lot of money, but what can you do with the money that avoids pretty much all civilization because the paparazzi are creepy moneygrubbing stalkers. and the gossip! living with people talking shit about you must be terrible. and your friends, your family - you'd quickly learn who would truly be there for you and who would sell out.

it would be so hard to do "normal people things.." but it's kind of the sadness of always wanting what you don't have. normal people aspire and dream of fame, of riches, of wonderful things, and the people who have them think their life is shit. funny how things turn out that way.

so the lesson? be happy with what you have? or like miley cyrus, "the best of both worlds!" luuulz

i love you!

ARGH i dragged myself out of bed at like...5:30, came to millbrae, went back to bed at 6, woke up at 8:20, OH CRAP DOCTOR APPT AT 10, shower, dash to BART. when i get to one bart stop before the doctor's office...i realize my appointment is at 10:45, not 10. -___-. yeah. so now i'm at the apple store! typing this entry, debating whether to camwhore on photobooth. i woul play around with the iphone to my left but it currently displays "password incorrect...."

WHOA they have a periodic table app :)

Actinium (Ac) 89
Atomic Weight (g/mol): 227 (would like more accuracy here :P)
State: Solid
Group: Actinoid
Electron Configuration: [Rn]7s26d1
Melting Point (K): 1323
Boiling Point (K) 3471
Atomic Radius (pm): 195
Covalent Radius: --
Discovered: 1899

HELLA COOL YO. hahahaha

everyone keeps peering over my shoulder looking at the prices and stuff. hahah $1299 for this i think dang. but if you get one for college you get a free iTouch. apple really knows what it's doing when it's coming to these deals XDD

okay well i still have half an hour to burn. maybe i'll get something to eat..but i wanted to get nubi later...D:

where i'm not really doing anything...no cty, no ohs, no GATE, the cruise in july but that's so far away...

and in a way, it's nice, because i can just kick back and relax and not worry about anything so much; i can read read read read read and play piano and watch dramas and basically do everything that i put off for studying during the school year. but it's weird because it also seems like everyone is doing something. internships, jobs, classes, volunteer work. it kind of makes me feel useless by comparison...like i should be doing as well. i guess it's okay. i'll find a way to do something useful. i hope.

ACHOO. i just forgot what i was about to say....OH! i finished how to read literature... it was alright. kind of interesting how he thinks that every story is just a different take on the big picture, whatever that may be. wish he would name-drop a bigger variety of stories, though. :/

tiff's party was fun! i have a vague idea of how to play mahjong now lolll. didn't go into the bouncehouse...but that's okay!

wow i'm on like, a public entry roll. i guess summer vacation makes me less secretive, too.
i guess, is what i wish for.

if i didn't do better on SATs this time around, i don't know what i'll do. but enough of that. no use worrying about things that can't be changed. except for asshole kid sitting next to me with his prep book reading sneakiness.

weird things happen to me. kelia's brother conversation, the bart ride back from the doctor, now the cheating kid. oh well. it makes for good stories (saving it for another entry)

yay june for being the awesome birthday month :) :) i'm so excited for EVERYTHING. book sales, great america with CTY buddies, fun fun fun.

after looking at google images, ben stiller does not much look like tim geithner. but it was funny imagining the parallel.

it's so weird watching people get college counselors and watching my parents worry if they're doing right by me, talking about the pros of SAT classes and silly things. i wish my parents wouldn't have to compare themselves and fuel the whole college/test-prep industry. i don't want to package myself into something i'm not. i'll do my best with what i have, thanks.

i don't know who i want to be, but i'm not going to lose who i am in the process of going for it.
